SCS wants your input into the 2017-18 school budget

All are welcome and encouraged to take part in Schoharie Central School District's Community Budget Forum on Monday, Feb. 27, from 7-9 p.m. in the Elementary cafeteria. Community to vote on H.S. repair and renovation project

Capital project at Schoharie HS

Just as Schoharie Central is dedicated to preparing its students for a successful future, it invests considerable time and energy into caring for the buildings and classrooms in which they learn. Daily wear and tear and the aging of the high school and its systems have taken their toll beyond what can be remedied through routine maintenance and repair.

At the same time, technology and space requirements for today's learners are vastly different from the past. District residents will vote on a proposed capital project for the 90-year-old building. Most of the cost would be covered by state aid. READ MORE

Drills provide important practice

Fire drills, lockdown drills and go-home early drills are a routine but important part of keeping students and staff prepared and our school safe. A set number of drills is required by the state, and drills are held throughout the year, not announced ahead of time and coordinated with local fire, emergency and law enforcement agencies.
