A reminder about delays and closings
SCS reports delays and closings in a number of ways,
including on local TV news stations, this website and via SNN. Please note,
however, that SNN and text messages can be delayed due to
situations beyond the district's control. It is best to rely on more
than one source of information for important announcements.

Community to vote on H.S. repair and renovation project
Just as Schoharie Central is dedicated to preparing
its students for a successful future, it
invests considerable time and energy into caring for the buildings
and classrooms in which they learn. Daily wear and tear and the aging of the
high school and its systems have taken their toll beyond what can be
remedied through routine maintenance and repair.
At the same time,
technology and space requirements for today's learners are vastly
different from the past. District residents will vote on a proposed
capital project for the 90-year-old
building. Most of the cost would be covered by state aid.

Drills provide important practice
Fire drills, lockdown drills and go-home early drills are a
routine but important part of keeping students and staff prepared and
our school safe. A set number of drills is required by the state, and
drills are held throughout the year, not announced ahead of time and
coordinated with local fire, emergency and law enforcement agencies.
