Confronting challenges while building academics

Bullying, drugs, alcohol and misuse of social media can be major stressors for today's students. Motivational speaker William Harris returns to Schoharie on Jan. 18 to help them tackle such challenges while upping their academic game.

"William Harris is a well-known motivational speaker who brought his positive message of 'Believe, achieve and make that change!' to our October Meet the Coaches Night," said SCS Athletic Coordinator and Assistant Principal Robert Kraemer.

"Our 6th through 12th-grade students will again benefit from his focus on education, character and tools for making a better person in an assembly geared toward academic success."

"William Harris gives motivational presentations about sports, school and life in general," said Schoharie Superintendent David Blanchard. "He stresses not only that education is the foundation of future success, but also talks about the importance of what he calls 'the five Ps of life: proper preparation prevents poor performance'."
