April 12 shelter in place

On Wednesday, April 12, Schoharie Jr./Sr. High School and Elementary School went into a shelter in place at approximately 3:10 p.m. in response to what was determined to be a non-credible threat written on a bathroom wall in the high school.

The Schoharie County Sheriff’s Department and the New York State Police were called to investigate the situation. The shelter in place was lifted at 3:38 p.m.

An SNN was sent to all subscribers and a letter from the principals will be sent home. The event was also communicated via the high school Twitter feed.

We thank parents and guardians for speaking with their children about this event and for understanding that our first priority is to keep children safe.

Please feel free to call your child's principal if you have any questions.
