Lots of learning to be generated at STEAM Fun Night

Ricky the Robot With more than two dozen hands-on activities from making silicone wafers and spaghetti towers to becoming a human spirograph and learning the science of baking, students in grades 4-8 have lots to look forward to at the Sixth Annual STEAM Fun Night at Schoharie High School on Feb. 2.

Presented by the SCS STEAM Committee, the science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM)-focused event is open to students from Schoharie and Duanesburg school districts. Sessions begin after school and run until 5 p.m.

Paper Circuit
Thin Films
What is Nano Science?
Nano Sand
Ultra Violet Rays and Opacity

Human Spirograph

Spaghetti Towers

Making Silicone Wafers

Snacks are being provided at the event by the Schoharie Teachers Association.

The snow date for STEAM Fun Night is Feb. 9. Permission slips were provided in school and due back by Jan. 19. Those who didn't return a slip and are interested in attending should contact Schoharie High School math department chair Erika Robert at ERobert@schoharie.k12.ny.us.
