All a-buzz about science and engineering

learning about honeybees

Thanks to funding by the Schoharie Elementary PTSO, second graders were buzzing with knowledge about the science and engineering of bees, honey and hives after a May visit by the SUNY Polytechnic's Children's Museum Of Science & Technology (CMOST).

The students learned about honey bees and their bodies, roles in the hive and hive construction. They took part in craft stations, viewed archives of bee-related information and enjoyed a team-based, hands-on hive-building activity.

Based in Troy, SUNY Poly CMOST is part of the Colleges of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (SUNY Poly).
