On Saturday, March 5, we had 8 talented Schoharie Valley FFA members travel to Pine Plains for the District 2 Leadership Development Events. These students have been preparing for their events over the last few months, developing resumes, writing speeches and working on their public speaking skills.

Tyler, Kimberly, Yazmin, Ana, Adora and Chloe have all qualified for Eastern Region Sub-States and will compete on March 19 to determine top placings,
where the top 2 competitors will go on to represent their chapter and the region at the NY State FFA Convention in May. Good luck, FFA members!
Through Career and Leadership Development Events, participating FFA members are challenged to develop critical thinking skills and effective decision-making skills, foster teamwork and promote communication while recognizing the value of ethical competition and individual achievement. CDE and LDE events occur at the local, state and national levels in a multitude of individual and team formats.
