In collaboration with the Schoharie EPTSO, the Elementary Backpack Program received a generous donation from the Sterling Insurance Company Foundation to purchase new backpacks. These bags are used by participating students to discreetly transport food on weekends and extended breaks. The backpacks are washed and reused weekly however wear and tear accumulates as the school year progresses.
In the photo, Tobias, a member of the High School Life Skills class, displays some of the newly purchased backpacks. Tobias and his classmates pack and distribute the backpacks weekly to participating elementary students.
Having a supply of backpacks is vital to this program. Thank you to Sterling Insurance Company Foundation for being a supportive community partner, the EPTSO and our Life Skills students!
