What better way to inspire children to enjoy reading than to speak to them as a visiting author who can also share about another culture?
Marcus E. Mohalland, author of the “Silly Nomads” series, visited Schoharie Elementary recently, where he read from his books to 5th graders and talked about the writing process.
He also talked to the students about growing up in poor neighborhoods in Jamaica and about the Patois (Patwa) language spoken there.
The presentation was aimed at motivating and inspiring the children to love reading and learn more about people from various cultures.
Schoharie Elementary is proud to be a No Place For Hate school.
