They got in a crunch, but it was a good thing: Schoharie Elementary students supported their local farmers on Oct. 25 by taking part in the FarmOn! #BigAppleCrunch Challenge and enjoying apples from Terrace Mountain Orchard in Schoharie.
The statewide event united children with farmers across New York’s apple belt through a coordinated CRUNCH to bring awareness during harvest time. Children were challenged to take the biggest bite they could out of a local apple. Schoharie Elementary students gladly participated in the tasty event.
The challenge highlighted the need to “Keep Farmers Farming” and inspire the community to Eat Local.
