Schoharie Jr./Sr. High School 7th grade student Braeden Beck has been selected to sing with the Capital District Youth Chorale (CDYC), following a successful audition.
Braeden was selected from among students in 45 schools in four counties in the greater Capital District.
“We are very proud of Braeden for his hard work and dedication to the choral program at SCS and are thrilled to have him bring back things that he learns from participating in this ensemble to help other students at Schoharie,” said music teacher Carrie Styles.
The CDYC is a chorus for young people ages 9-18. In its 35th year, the CDYC is directed by Diane B. Warner, who founded it in 1982 as the Schenectady County Community College Children’s Chorus. The CDYC offers young people “superb vocal training, unmatched musicality, sophisticated repertoire, unique performance opportunities, interesting travel, [and] choral singing at its finest.”
