Gov. Andrew Cuomo is extending the school budget vote count date from Tuesday, June 9 to Tuesday, June 16. In-person ballot drop offs will continue through 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 9, while mail-in ballots must be received by 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 16.

While the absentee ballots can be returned by mail to the district, they must be received by the district by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16. Any mailed ballots postmarked on June 16 or before but not delivered to the district before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16 will not count in the election.  Please take that into account. If you have concerns that your ballot will not make it to the district on time or if you are not comfortable with returning your ballot by mail, you may drop your ballot off at Schoharie Central School at the same location you would normally go to the polls in the high school main office lobby.

There is a locked and secured ballot box that voters must use to drop off their ballots. The ballots must still need to be in their signed, oath envelopes and that envelop must be sealed inside the business reply mail envelope, just as if you were going to mail it. The ballot box is monitored by security cameras.

The door with the orange ballot box sign will be open from 7 a.m. till 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until 5 p. m., Tuesday, June 9.
