Districtwide School Safety Plan

As required by state education law, the Schoharie Central School District maintains a districtwide safety plan and must post this plan on its website. This plan is designed to prevent or minimize the effects of violent incidents and emergencies and to facilitate the coordination of schools and school districts with local and county resources in the event of such incidents or emergencies. The plan also includes the method by which Schoharie CSD will ensure the availability of devices, internet access, provision of special education and related services for students with disabilities, and the expectations for time spent in different remote modalities.

School Closings & Delays Information

When the Schoharie Central School district is forced to close or delay school, or plans to dismiss students early due to emergency situations, such as severe weather conditions or problems in one of our schools, that information is reported on this website.

Closing and delay announcements are also made on local TV news stations and are posted on the websites of media using the School Closings Network, to which the district sends information.

On days when school for students is canceled due to difficult or dangerous weather conditions, out of district transportation is also canceled. In general, when school is closed during the day, all afternoon and evening functions are also canceled.
