Schoharie CSD has restructured its administrative team for the 2024-25 school year.
With the departure of Dr. Kevin Calacone, who was appointed in April as the head of La Salle Institute effective July 1, David Russell has assumed the role of principal at the Jr./Sr. High School after a board appointment in June.
The Schoharie CSD Board of Education, on Thursday, July 11, appointed Betsy Wright as the new Jr./Sr. High School assistant principal, which was the role previously held by Russell. Wright’s position as the Elementary School assistant principal is being filled by Carley Ryan, who was the athletic director for the 2023-24 school year. In addition to her board appointment also on July 11, Ryan will retain her athletic director duties for the 2024-25 school year. Elementary Principal Andrea Polikoski is continuing in her longtime role.
There are no new administrators joining the district at this time. Wright and Ryan are currently coordinating our Summer Enrichment Program.
“This is an experienced administrative team with close ties to our students, our families and our community. The district is in good hands as we prepare for the coming school year,” Superintendent David M. Blanchard said. “As we head closer toward August, please be ready to receive important back-to-school information from our leadership team. We hope our students and families are having a great summer.”
