Schoharie students in grades 4-12 took a brainy look at the exciting worlds of science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) at the district’s first STEAM Cafe at the high school on May 11.
The topic was Brain Chat, and the free, afterschool event featured guest speakers neuroscientist Dr. Elavarasi John and local non-profit director Norine Hodges.
According to SCS science teacher and STEAM committee member Cheska Robinson, “Our Science Cafes provide a casual setting for everyone–students, teachers, families- – to grab some snacks and engage in conversations with featured speakers about particular STEAM topics.”
