SCS was well-represented at the recent Schoharie County Music Educators’ Association (SCMEA) All Stars Music Festival at Duanesburg High School, with choir and band members sharing their talents in the school’s Joe Bena Auditorium.
According to SCMEA, “Exceptional student musicians in grades 5 and 6 were chosen to participate based on recommendations by their music teachers. The students rehearsed with guest conductors on April 12 and 13, and the festival culminated in an afternoon concert April 13 given by the Elementary Band and the Elementary Choir. Participating school districts were Berne-Knox-Westerlo, Cobleskill-Richmondville, Duanesburg, Middleburgh, Schoharie, and Sharon Springs.”
Former SCS music teacher and current Berlin CSD teacher Jessica Gould directed the band. Brunswick CSD music teacher Chris Siegenthaler conducted the choir.
