The American Society of Military Comptrollers, CNY Leatherstocking Chapter, sponsors a scholarship program for graduating high school seniors who demonstrate exemplary leadership abilities, an interest in the financial management career field, and academic promise.
The CNY Leatherstocking Chapter will award one $500 scholarship, one $300 scholarship and one $200 scholarship, and National ASMC will award 11 scholarships. Two winners at the local level will automatically be considered at the National level..
Prior years, the National ASMC scholarships were: One $3,000 scholarship, five $2,000 scholarships, and five $1,000 scholarships. Winners at the $3,000 and $2,000 levels may reapply each year to receive $1,500 and $1,000 respectively for the following three academic years.
The ASMC Scholarships are for students entering the fields of Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or Economics.
Applicants must submit and application and two letters of recommendation: one from the high school principal, academic dean or guidance counselor, and one from either a community organization, religious organization or employer.
