Schoharie High School senior Emily Dahlin has been named Student of the Year at the Capital Region BOCES Center for Advanced Technology (CAT) at Mohonasen.
Emily, who studies Entertainment Technology at the CAT, received the award during a June 4 ceremony at Proctors in Schenectady.
Emily also was named Outstanding Student in her class at the CAT.
She credits attending the two-year program with making her a well-rounded person. “I have learned how to work with all types of people,” she said, while also cementing her career aspirations.
“Attending BOCES helped me figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life,” Emily said. Through the program, she has learned everything from lighting to set design and worked on a Proctors production.
An aspiring theatrical makeup artist, Emily will attend SUNY Fredonia in the fall to pursue a degree in technical theater.
