On Wednesday, Jan. 16, the Cooperstown Branch of Farm Credit East hosted regional FFA chapters, including Schoharie Valley, to present them with a $300 donation.
Schoharie Valley FFA Vice President Jamie Fox, who is interested in an agricultural career and plans to open her own local agribusiness, attended the awards ceremony and received the check. Twenty-seven FFA chapters from throughout the region were recognized.
Farm Credit East is part of the Farm Credit System, a nationwide agricultural network providing credit and affiliated services to agricultural and related industries across the U.S.
The funds were raised at the annual charity golf tournament held for the Five County AG Charity Fund Inc. to benefit local charitable causes, with an emphasis on rural communities and agricultural functions and traditions.
