Four SCS students were invited to participate in the New York Young Men Sing event at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. on Saturday, Feb. 11.
William Bond, Braden Rose, Landen Scofield and Ethan VanDerwerken were invited to the annual event hosted by the Cornell University Glee Club. The students spent the day at Cornell with master conductor Rosalind Hall, preparing four pieces to perform that evening.
The students sang alongside Glee Club members and worked with their a capella subset for part of the day. At the conclusion of the rehearsals, they performed in Cornell’s beautiful Sage Chapel.
According to the New York Young Men Sing website, the goal of the event is “to encourage male students to continue singing not only through high school, but throughout their collegiate and adult lives.”
Congratulations to Schoharie’s students for being invited to participate.
