Schoharie High School junior Jedidiah Fox has qualified for the National Merit Scholarship program in recognition of his performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test this past fall.
According to the National Merit Scholarship program, “These high performers have shown outstanding academic potential. From approximately 1.6 million program entrants, each of these students is among the 50,000 highest-scoring participants who will be recognized in the fall.
“From the 50,000 high scorers nationwide, about 16,000 will be named National Merit Program Semifinalists, representing the top scorers in each state, and the other 34,000 students will be commended for their performance on the PSAT/NMQST.”
Jedidiah met National Merit requirements by earning a Selection Index Score of 212 or above on the test.
