1. Standing item: High School Building Renovation Project
a. Started Monday 5/13
b. Work is going faster than expected
c. Work moved to first shift due to losing three months due to
NYSED delays
Outcome: Continue to work with Shawn Gathen and the Building Project
Committee throughout this process.
2. Standing Item: School Climate
a. Our district will be partnering with Generation Ready to
conduct equity walks in both buildings. June 5th (Elementary)
and June 6th (High School).
b. Surveys- how do we engage the community? Include in report
card mailings; mass mailings like we do for the newsletter; reach
out to local organizations; how do they get returned to us?
Outcome: Keep school climate as a standing item and focus for future BLT
agendas.
3. Other topics
a. Handbook updates- Current website posting of the handbook is
still out of date; formatting is terrible; keep the subheadings?
– Attendance- update to procedures
b. Academic Success Plan-updates?
Agenda items for next meeting: The BLT has committed to meeting for two
full days over the summer (in addition to its regular meetings) to review and
update each section of the handbook.
Next meeting: Monday June 17, 2019 (3 – 4 p.m. in Room 108).
