Schoharie CSD is using a school-to-home communication application called ParentSquare. This communications platform is designed to keep family and community members informed and encourage greater engagement and connection with our school.
ParentSquare provides a centralized location for many types of communication between your family and the school. In particular, ParentSquare provides a safe way for district administrators, school principals, teachers, staff, coaches and parents to:
- Send and receive school, class, team and group information
- Share classroom pictures and files
- See calendar items
- Sign up to volunteer when applicable
- Schedule parent-teacher conferences
- And much more . . . all in one centralized place!
To get started using ParentSquare:
- Activate Your Account
We use the email address we have for your family to create your account. Click the link in the activation email you will receive from us. You may also visit, www.parentsquare.com. If you haven’t received an email automatically, please contact jpalmateer@schoharieschools.com for further assistance. - Download the App
It’s easy to stay in the loop with the ParentSquare App. Download it for your iOS or Android devices. - Set Preferences
Click your name in the top right to customize how you receive notifications, as well as language preferences. - Get Photos & Files
Click “Photos & Files” to access pictures, forms, and documents that have been shared with you. - Appreciate Posts
Click “Appreciate” in your email/app or website to thank a teacher or staff member for their message. - Find People
Click “Directory” in the sidebar to find contact information for school staff. - Get in Touch
Click “Messages” in the sidebar to privately get in touch with staff and teachers. - Participate
Click “Sign-Ups & RSVPs” to see opportunities when applicable. Click bell on top to check your commitments.

ParentSquare FAQ for Families
Will I receive notifications if I did not sign up for ParentSquare?
Yes. All parents and/or guardians are automatically registered to receive notifications through ParentSquare when they enroll their student. ParentSquare is the primary tool for district and school communication.
Can I use ParentSquare on my mobile device?
Yes! In addition to using ParentSquare’s online portal(opens external link in new window), you can download the FREE ParentSquare app to your iPhone(opens external link in new window) or Android(opens external link in new window) mobile device.
If I missed the initial activation email for ParentSquare, can I still sign up for the service?
No worries, the process is easy! Families can log into the ParentSquare website(opens external link in new window) or download the app using the email address or cell phone number that they provided to our school. Once you are logged in, you can set notification preferences and make sure you are ready to communicate with us.
