Schoharie, Middleburgh criminal justice students are among the best in the state
SCHOHARIE — A group of teens who aspire to careers in law enforcement are among the best in New York State at solving crimes.
The group of criminal justice students from the Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School Schoharie Campus took fourth place in the recent New York State SkillUSA competition in the crime scene investigation competition.
The trio of Alli Cater from Middleburgh, Hunter Bouck from Schoharie and Isabele Philipp from Middleburgh, took fourth place in the virtual state-wide competition, said teacher Gerald Place.
The contest involved the trio processing a crime scene – legally searching for, properly collecting and removing evidence of the crime. This included collecting finger prints, processing other evidence, writing a report, drawing the crime scene sketch and marking evidence.
