Schoharie’s HS Choir and Treble Choir performed at Schenectady County Community College in their Choral Showcase on Friday, Nov. 1.
They joined Schalmont and Northville CSDs, who also brought choirs to perform. After the performance, students had the chance to work with the clinician Dr. Julie Hagen from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford. They received compliments and some feedback on how to improve their sound and overall performance.
Our students also heard the other choirs perform and were able to learn from the critique they received from Dr. Hagen. It’s opportunities like this that help encourage students to grow and improve as musicians. Being able to sing and reflect and make changes is such a crucial skill which can help musicians to achieve a higher level of performance. In addition, seeing what other groups are out there and what they are doing can be a great motivator.
