Twenty-four 5th and 6th-grade SCS choir and band students participated in the All-Stars Music Festival at Golding Middle School April 27-28, where they worked with guest conductors and performed with their peers from neighboring school districts.
“We are so grateful to have students, even at this young age, participating in honors ensembles,” said Schoharie music teacher Carrie Styles.
The festival is one of two regional festivals presented by The Schoharie County Music Educators’ Association (SCMEA). Members of the association work together to plan the festivals as a way to offer expanded music opportunities for music students.
SCMEA also sponsors annual scholarships for graduating seniors who will be studying music in college.
