Braeden Beck, a Schoharie sophomore auditioned and was accepted into the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Eastern Division High School Honor Choir. For auditions students were required to submit recordings that demonstrated vocal technical skills and performance excerpts from classical repertoire. From that point it was a blind selection process by a panel of judges.
Braeden was in competition with the finest high school singers across 11 states/regions including Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland/DC, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Braeden traveled to Boston for the ACDA Eastern Division conference where he rehearsed and performed under the direction of Paul Rardin. Paul Rardin is the Chair of Choral Music and Vocal Arts at Temple University and has served as the guest conductor for All-State festivals in eighteen states. Braeden’s choir also sang the premiere of a commissioned piece by Rollo Dilworth, who came to a rehearsal to talk to them about the composition.
Congratulations to Braeden on this impressive accomplishment!
