A SUNY Oneonta student who is student-teaching at Schoharie Jr./Sr. High School was selected to receive the Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence (CASE), which is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a student by the State University of New York. In a letter to Fernando Trejo, State University of New York Chancellor John B. King Jr. J.D., Ed. D. stated the following:

This award honors SUNY students who have successfully integrated SUNY excellence into many different aspects of their lives, including academics, leadership, diversity, equity, inclusion, & justice, research & development, campus involvement, civics, & service, or the arts (creative or performing). Your ability to lead, give back to your campus community, and tap into your creativity makes you a role model for your peers and your campus. You have achieved extraordinary things, and we hope to celebrate your hard work and many accomplishments with you.

Trejo, who is from Germantown in the Hudson Valley, will receive his award in a ceremony on Tuesday, April 29, at The Egg in Albany. Congratulations on this outstanding accomplishment!
